A legendary bow wielded by Sakanoue no Tamuramaro, a man known for his skill as an archer and who successfully established rule over the region under orders from the shogun. It is said that Sakanoue no Tamuramaro received the bow from the thousand—armed Kannon who took on the form of a child. He then used the bow to fire an arrow that pierced the left eye of Konheika, a demon terrorising the Kii province (present-day Wakayama prefecture). It is also said that the bow was used to vanquish the demon god Akuro, whose tyranny plagued the Mutsu province (present-day Tohoku region).
