The Rabbit Ear Wakidachi Kabuto is a form of "kawari–kabuto" — a family of helmets featuring fantastical designs. "Wakidachi" protrusions extends out to the left and right of the helmet's bowl in the shape of a rabbit's ears. Rabbits were favored among the samurai as a symbol of religious faith, due to their connection to the moon. They are also linked to the idea of speed through the phrase "datto", which means "lightning fast".
