An odachi forged by Kuniyuki, a master of the Rai style, in Yamashiro province (present—day Kyoto prefecture). It gets its name from its ability to clearly reflect faces in its blade, and is one of two swords which Kuniyuki toiled at length to forge, the other being Kannamaru. Kannamaru was given to Hojo Takatoki, while Omokage was given to his retainer. The blade eventually fell into the hands of Ikeda Terumasa after passing through the Ashikaga clan of the Koga Royal Court. Long and deeply curved, the blade is suited for slicing and parrying, with its weight lending great power to each strike.
