Description

A headband following a simple design made from hemp, its dark colour goes a long way to disguising the dirt it accumulates during long pilgrimages. The hachimaki originated from the ribbons used to secure helmets once they had been placed over the eboshi ( conical hat) . Later they were be used to increase the wearer's focus and channel their ki. This hachimaki contains a metal plate that offers protection for the forehead. This clothing was worn by the great tactician of Higo province, Marume Nagayoshi. Nagayoshi was tutored by Kamiizumi Nobutsuna in the Shinkage style of sword fighting. He was employed as a tutor by the Sagara family, but became a rosin after being defeated by the Shimazu clan. After travelling the length and breadth of Kyushu, he conceived the Taisha school of tactics and became known as a genius strategist.

Garb consisting of a plain and ordinary haori, dyed deep blue in colour. On his back for many a long mile during his pilgrimage of the island, it is covered in dirt and various tears. There are metal fittings on the back to hold his emblem.

Tekko made from thin iron cladding reinforced with leather and cloth, that protect both the wrists and the backs of the hands. Though grimy after many months of use on his pilgrimage of the island, they remain undamaged.
